About Me

My name is Shylo Olsen and I am a graduate of the Lethbridge College Mutli-Media program. I grew up in Raymond, a small town outside of Lethbridge. The community around art and creative hobbies was very lacking so I didn’t have much access to amenities in that field. Despite all this, I worked hard to see my goals become reality as I worked every day on my art and stories. More than anything else, I strived to have a job in animation. My hobbies include Digital art, video editing, playing video games, reading books, writing stories, 3D modelling, watching YouTube and much more. One of my biggest inspirations is the entire horror genre. Growing up I was always fascinated with more dark fictional stories such as Five Nights at Freddy’s, Outlast, Silent Hill and many others. My inspirations tend to bleed through my work as I gravitate towards making more horror-like work and darker colour palettes.

Me

I consider myself lucky to have grown up in such a creatively motivated period, where TV and games can portray in-depth stories without being penalized for doing so. I one day hope to inspire people with my work and stories, opening people's eyes to experiences that they wouldn't necessarily face or understand. Storytelling is a good way to portray meaningful problems to people who typically wouldn't consider the situations others face around them day to day. Above all else, I value honesty and social justice. In the end, I just want to make the world a little better piece by piece, story by story.
